Our founding fathers believed that  two things were essential for self-government: (1) public virtue and (2) general knowledge.

Many Americans are well aware of our failure to maintain public virtue, but few know just how ignorant we have become in the area of knowledge that matters most - the principles of liberty!

Most Americans no longer understand the purpose of government (to secure our God-given unalienable rights). Most Americans no longer know what their inalienable rights are. Most Americans have never heard of inalienable duties. Most Americans have no idea what our different branches of government can and cannot do under our system of government. Many Americans do not even know what form of government we have!

I believe that it is essential that every man, woman and child in American read, "The 5000 Year Leap: Principles of Freedom 101" by Dr. Cleon Skousen. This easy-to-read book contains all the basic principles of liberty that we were instructed by our founding fathers to pass down from generation to generation. It explains what our founding fathers believed and why. It explains what forms of government they rejected and why. It explains, not only what form of government they established, but why they established it.
